The Remembering Post
This offering is for the woman who has spent enough of her life becoming who she was taught to be, and begins to sense, somewhere beneath all of it, the presence of her original self.
It is the feeling that there is something underneath that has been obscured, something that existed before the layers of conditioning, expectation, performance, inherited stories, and cultural debris accumulated around her soul.
The Remembering Post was created for that place.
The Intention
The philosophy is simple: we do not have to become someone new in order to come home to ourselves. There is an original human design beneath what we have inherited, and remembrance is the gradual removal of everything false that was laid over it.
The soul carries its own intelligence, language, its own way of knowing what is alive, what is true, what is sacred, what belongs, and what has been imposed. Much of what we call self-discovery is an excavation, a process of becoming quiet enough to distinguish the original voice from the many voices that have learned to speak over it.
Modern spiritual practices often overlay overtop of the falsehoods, stabilizing the false self, but remembering is the opposite. You do not need anything new, not a belief, a doctrine, rather you need to be still enough to return to what has always been there.
Each month, a carefully designed envelope arrives carrying a new theme and a collection of literary, artistic, spiritual, sensory, and earthly offerings gathered around it, creating a small world that can be opened, held, read, listened to, planted, contemplated, and returned to throughout the month. The intention is for the correspondence to feel less like receiving a collection of products and more like receiving a little portal into a nook of the soul, where every element has been chosen because it belongs to the larger story being explored.
The themes will change because there are many doors into remembrance, and no single topic can contain the whole of what it means to return to oneself. One month might lead us into the wild feminine, another into the intelligence of the body, another into grief or desire or creativity or cyclical living, another into the relationship between the human soul and the natural world, and another might ask us to look directly at one of the stories we have mistaken for our identity. What connects these explorations is the understanding that beneath the many identities we acquire throughout a lifetime, there remains something deeply original that can be encountered again and again.
Each month’s envelope will be assembled as a kind of message in a bottle from that world, with a letter/transmission forming the heart of the collection and the accompanying pieces changing according to what the theme is asking for.
What you may find in an envelope:
An invitation to an embodied practice
A series of prompts for deeper reflection
A curated playlist accessible through QR code on both Spotify and Apple Music
An art print
A bookmark
Book + media lists
Herbs, seeds, soil, tea..
A lunar or seasonal tracker or calendar
A recipe
A custom sticker
..or some other small and unexpected artifact that feels capable of carrying the month’s theme beyond the page and into ordinary life. Some months may be more literary, some more tactile, some more ritualistic, and some more playful, but every element will be chosen with the same intention: to make remembrance something that can be experienced rather than merely understood.
Each month's envelope will hold new delights and surprises that flow from the creative process when planning each theme.
The First Letter’s Theme: Returning to the Wild Woman
The first month of the Remembering Post will be devoted to returning to the Wild Woman, drawing deeply from the archetypal territory explored in Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ Women Who Run With the Wolves and from the larger body of myth, folklore, feminine psychology, and instinctual wisdom surrounding the wild feminine.
The Wild Woman is an especially potent doorway into remembrance because she represents something that existed in the feminine before the long process of domestication taught women to distrust their instincts, soften their knowing, abandon their appetites, silence their anger, mistrust their bodies, and confuse belonging with obedience. She is the part of the psyche that still knows how to listen beneath the noise, how to recognize what has gone dead, how to follow the scent of what is alive, how to create from the depths, how to leave when something has become spiritually barren, and how to trust the intelligence of the body when the surrounding world has become too loud to hear oneself clearly.
This month is an invitation to encounter the instinctual feminine beneath the layers that taught her to become smaller, more manageable, more pleasing, more explainable, and more distant from her own nature. Through the letter, artwork, music, ritual, and other additions, the month will become an opportunity to explore what it means to recover a relationship with the woman who was there before the world began telling her who she was supposed to become.
